Shelly Tice, MSN, RN-BC
Shelly Tice has been a practicing RN for the past 36 years. A graduate of Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing with an Associate of Science from Franklin & Marshall College, BSN from Penn State University, and a recent MSN in Executive Leadership from Saint Xavier University. Her work experience includes; Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Nursing, Nursing Education, Nurse Management/Administration, and Hospital Case Management. For the past 10 years, Shelly has functioned as a RN Care Coordinator with a variety of surgical services at Penn State Health, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. As her MSN capstone project in 2019, she assisted in developing and implementing a Case Management Professional Ladder at her institution. She obtained level II on the ladder and serves as an informal leader in the Care Transitions Department. Shelly has her ANCC certification in Case Management. She has presented posters at the American Nurses Association (ANA) national conference in 2016 and 2017. One poster was on implementing a Group Pre-operative Ostomy Education Class: Improves Satisfaction, Decreased Complications, and Reduces Cost and the other was on a implementing a Hotel Option: An Innovative Way to Safely Reduce Hospital Length of Stay. In 2017, Shelly participated in publishing an article in The Journal of Wound Ostomy & Continence Nursing titled “Institution of a preoperative stoma education group class decreases rate of peristomal complications in new stoma patients. Shelly resides in Hershey PA., along with her husband and daughters.
