Biography

Mary Beth Billie is the Regional Executive Director of Population Heath at Loyola University Health System in Maywood, Illinois. She is responsible for developing and implementing care coordination and quality management programs for Loyola’s Physician Partners, an Accountable Care Organization that manages the cost of care for approximately 125,000 Commercial and Medicare members.

Mary Beth has extensive experience developing utilization management, case management, disease management and population health programs. Prior to her current position she was the Executive Director of Population Health at United Health Care where she directed the population health programs for Fortune 500 national accounts and assisted customers optimize their population health management programs. She previously held Case Management and Utilization Management leadership positions at Health Care Services Corp (Blue Cross of Illinois) and Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Mary Beth has developed and implemented case manager training programs using the Corbin Strauss Chronic Illness Trajectory framework to provide care managers with a structured approach to identifying and mitigating clinical, financial and psycho-social risks for high risk patients with chronic diseases.

Mary Beth is certified in Case Management from both CMSA and the AACN. She has a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Loyola University and her Capstone project was engaging patients in Serious Illness Conversations to elicit their goals and preferences for their care.
