Biography

Kirsten Thrush, RN, BSN, CCM, a US Navy veteran, graduated from Montana State University with her BSN in 2007. She has worked at the Naval Medical Center San Diego since 2011 in multiple case management rolls including primary care, mental health, residential PTSD treatment and in her current position as the Navy Medicine West Transgender Care Team Case Manager. Previous nursing experience includes inpatient psychiatric nursing at the San Diego VA Healthcare System where she led the code green team and was a team lead on the unit as well as head RN at the Hope House, a residential crisis facility in Bozeman, MT. Kirsten became a certified case manager in 2013 and is working towards a Master’s in Healthcare Administration. As a member of the Navy Medicine Transgender Care Team, she assists with the gender transition plans of active duty sailors Marines and Coast Guard stationed in the TRICARE Western region, including Japan, Guam and Hawaii.
