I am graduate of the first nursing school established in the US on the Nightingale plan, Bellevue Hospital. I received my BSN 7 years later and my master’s 7 years after that. I completed my doctoral degree in 2014 . Have in nursing service until September of 2016 when I joined that faculty of UC.. I have primarily been an administrator, but did for several years serve as a leader in case management- at the system level, large academic hospital , ad a very small rural hospital as well. During those years I was an interim leader and was able to see a variety of case management models and also consulted on several.
Now I am the coordinator for the doctoral programs at the CoN at UC and have received approval for a post graduate certificate program for individual clinicians who want to become case managers. The first courses will be ready for spring.
I have been married for these 20 years to a VA hospitalist, I have one daughter who is a second degree nurse and manages a rural ED and have a wonderful son-in-law who is a teacher and 4 wonderful grandchildren.
