Fallon Benavides, RN, MSN, ACM
Fallon has over 15 years of nursing experience ranging from bedside nursing, critical care to hospital leadership. Graduating in 2004 with a Bachler’s of Science in Nursing from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio Texas. She started her career in nursing at UTMB in Galveston on the Blocker Burn Unit. In the Burn Intensive Care Unit, Fallon worked in one of only 4 burn centers in the state of Texas. She was active in the burn community including teaching Burn Life Support to local hospitals in the Gulf Coast United States.
In 2009 she obtained her Master’s in Nursing Leadership from UTMB Galveston and joined MD Anderson Cancer Center as a nurse manager in their 54 bed ICU. In 2015, she made the transition to case management and currently serves as a Supervisor in the Case Management Department at MD Anderson. She is a certified case manager who serves a busy 650 bed hospital dedicated to oncology patients. In this role she is responsible for assisting patients, physicians and insurance companies navigate the healthcare continuum as well as oversee over 80 employees in the department. Fallon is also adjunct clinical faculty for UTMB School of Nursing and is in her forth semester at University of Texas Health Science San Antonio working on her Doctorate of Nursing Practice with hopes of graduating in 2020.
