Caitlin Ryan, MPH, LICSW, CCM
Caitlin Ryan is the Manager of Case Management at Spaulding Hospital for Continuing Care Cambridge, where she oversees a case management team of 18 staff members. She began her tenure at Spaulding (formerly Youville Hosptial and Rehabilitation Center) as a social work intern in 2005, returning as a case manager in 2008. She was promoted to the management position in 2013. She has also served as Interim Director of Care Coordination at Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in Brighton. She has earned Partners in Excellence Awards for her work, including her participation in the implementation of the Disorders of Consciousness brain injury program, her role in obtaining grant funding of $746,487 from the MA Health Policy Commission Innovation Investments Program to create a transitions of care support program for chronically critically ill patients, her work with the Revenue Enhancement team, and for her leadership skills. She previously worked at Boston University’s School of Social Work as a project manager for the Institute for Geriatric Social Work, and as a research assistant for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (Boston, MA).
Caitlin completed her Master’s in Social Work at Boston University (Boston, MA) in 2006, where she was awarded the Louis Lowry Certificate in Gerontological Social Work and received her Master’s in Public Health in 2007. She received her B.A in Sociology from the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA) in 2002. She is a licensed independent clinical social worker, a certified case manager, and an accredited case manager. She is a member of National Association of Social Workers, Case Management Society of New England, Case Management Society of America, American Case Management Association, where she currently serves on the Massachusetts board as President-Elect. She has been a part of the NASW Social Work Exchange Leadership Committee, the CMSNE Social Initiative Committee, the NASW Elder Issues Committee, where she served as the co-Chair between 2010-2013. She has presented at multiple conferences and has authored published reports to the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs and the Boston Partnership for Older Adults.
