Ron Ordona, DNP, FNP-BC
Dr. Ron Billano Ordona is a Doctor of Nursing Practice graduate from Boise State University. His DNP project was a quality improvement pilot project on Transitional Care Medical House Calls as a way to manage unplanned 30-day readmission to the ED or hospital. He owns a private practice as a Nurse Practitioner doing medical house call visits in the Sacramento area, Northern California. As a doctorally prepared NP, Dr. Ordona focuses on Gerontology/Geriatrics, continues to conduct or support research and translation of evidence into practice that addresses the needs of the elderly. Dr. Ordona is a clinical faculty for AGNP students at Boise State University and NP/PA students at the University of California, Davis Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Dr. Ordona has worked extensively with the Geriatric population in community-based care as a consultant for Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs) of Care Home by RNs, a network of 6-bed residential care homes, and other Assisted Living and Alzheimer’s care units in the community. Dr. Ordona is the chairperson of the Housecalls Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA). Dr. Ordona is involved in policy and advocacy as a member of the Health Policy and Practice Committee (HPPC) of the California Association for Nurse Practitioners (CANP).
