Mary Beth Newman, MSN, RN-BC, CCM, CHCQM
Mary Beth Newman has 30 years of professional experience in care management, education, and consultation in community-based, long-term care, and managed care settings. Her career focus has been on building best-practice, quality-driven, care management programs including development of case management workflow processes, outcome measurements; systems support development, and orientation and training programs. She has 20 years’ experience in health plan clinical care management operations spanning commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid populations. In this capacity she provided support and leadership with clinical model design, process management, staff development, and successful accreditation. Currently, Mary Beth is a Senior Assistant Vice-President at EXL Service, where she provides consultative expertise to support business development initiatives and clinical operations. Mary Beth is a Past President of CMSA and has served as a Director on the CMSA National Board of Directors. She co-chaired the 2016 Standards of Practice Task Force and has served on numerous other CMSA committees over the years. Mary Beth received her Master’s in Gerontological Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, and is nationally board-certified in nursing case management, chronic care management, general case management, and health care quality management. Mary Beth is continually interested in trends and developments in health care, and the implications for successful case management practice. She has presented dozens of presentations at the regional and national levels in the case management and health care industry on a wide range of “current events” topics including outcomes evaluation, health literacy, cultural competency, workforce development, care transitions, medical homes, performance improvement, and health care consumerism.
