Maria Perez, RN, BSN, MPH, CCM
Maria Perez, daughter to Puerto Rican/Spaniard parents, was born and raised on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Nursing from CUNY Hunter College/Bellevue School of Nursing, and eventually went on to receive her Master’s in Public Health in Health Policy and Administration from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. After some years of practicing nursing in the traditional sense, Maria started her own business in care management. As the founder and owner of Case Management Network, Inc., she has applied her experience and knowledge in nursing to empower and educate the injured worker population navigate the costly and ever-changing landscape of the health care industry, while also informing employers and insurers of the importance of quality medical care as a cost-effective solution for managing escalating costs. For over 30 years, Maria has carved out a name for herself by delivering quality services based on integrity, hard work, transparency and the recognition of the need to constantly grow and evolve in order to better serve her patients/clients and business partners. Recently, Case Management Network, Inc. has begun offering courses on Mindfulness to their clients. Buttressed by well over a decade of research in neuroscience, psychology, and medicine, Mindfulness training has been shown to cultivate: insight, attention, focus, concentration, emotion regulation, resilience, enhanced learning, health and an overall sense of well-being. The perennial learner, Maria has completed over seven years of formal studies in Contemplative Science, with certificates in Sustainable Happiness, Contemplative Psychotherapy, Meditation Teacher Training and Contemplative Lifestyle Training from Nalanda Institute, NYC. As a practitioner of meditation and contemplative living, Maria offers insight based on her own experience cultivated by over eleven years of practice.
