Krista Haven, MSN, RN, PHN, CDE
Krista Haven has practiced as a school nurse, home health nurse, medical-surgical nurse, telemetry nurse, and critical care nurse, educator, and director for various hospital units for over 25 years. She received her Master’s in Nursing, with an emphasis in Public Health, from Grand Canyon University. Krista joined the Chinle Service Unit Diabetes Program in 2012 as the Diabetes Nurse Improvement Specialist. She received her Certificate for Diabetes Education (CDE) in 2013. Krista has a special interest in self-management support including motivational interviewing and brief action planning. She currently works with para-professionals, Diabetes Health Coaches, as level-one and two diabetes health care providers who speak the Dine’ language and are part of the local Navajo community. Krista recently was part of the team in Chinle that applied and received AADE accreditation. She has worked with the Improving Patient Care Initiative and triple aim project for the past several years.
