Kenneth King, RN, BSN, CCM, CHGCN
Ken has been a registered nurse for 36 years with 20 plus years of Case Management experience in various settings including Acute Care, Emergency Room, Rehab, SNF and Ambulatory Care. He is currently the Director of Care Management at Northeast PHO, a Physician Hospital Organization affiliated with Beverly Hospital in the Lahey Health System in the North Shore of Massachusetts. Ken provides leadership to a professional team with focus on Population Health Management, targeting high risk members with identifiable chronic conditions. Ken has participated in program development at Northeast PHO, including pilots for Integrated Care Management, Congestive Heart Failure, Dementia Care and recently collaborating with his network’s Diabetic Care Center, planning for a Diabetic Prevention Program. Under his direction the Northeast PHO Care Management Team is supporting the PHO’s Primary Care Physicians Transitional Care Management and Chronic Care Management programs, providing quality care to the high risk population. He has worked closely with the network’s Care Management leadership and Informatics Director establishing policies and workflows the teams are utilizing in a Care Management software platform providing Care Management with patient registries, assessments, care planning tools and care pathways. Ken has been active with the CMSNE since the inception of the chapter, first participating as a member then in 2014 he volunteered to join the Massachusetts Extension Committee. He has been the co-chair of the extension since 2015, serving on the CMSNE Board of Directors during that time. He has been involved in numerous other chapter committees along with planning and promoting several educational programs a year. Ken credits his mentors and peers for expanding his knowledge of CMSA and his chapter, and having the opportunity to work with a group of professionals dedicated to the practice of Case Management with the goal of growing the membership’s knowledge and passion for the profession. Along with his certification in case management he is a certificate holder in Guided Care Nursing and in August of 2014 was a recipient of the Daisy Award which celebrates outstanding role models in the nursing community. Ken resides in Salem Massachusetts with his wife Patricia, and his son Kenneth. His favorite forms of relaxation is enjoying a round of golf at the Wenham Country Club or cheering on the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics.
