Biography

Cathy Pappin MSN, RN, CHPN has been a nurse for over 30 years. Cathy is currently a Registered Nurse Case Manager at Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, OH. Cathy is Adjunct Nursing Faculty for Bryant & Stratton College, teaching didactic, nursing lab and nursing clinical. Catherine obtained her BSN in 1988 and her MSN Nurse Educator in 2018. Catherine is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and is certified in hospice and palliative care (CHPN). Cathy’s background includes critical care, emergency department, and hospice prior to her current role. Catherine has 10+ years of leadership experience and 13 years of hospice case management. Catherine is a member of several workplace committees including Magnet Champions, Individual Plan of Care (IPOC), and ED to SNF Work Team. ED/floor to SNF is an aspect of case management practice which she feels is of utmost importance. With this, Cathy’s goal for the patient is to deliver the right level of care at the right time, decrease total cost of care, improve patient outcomes and experience, avoid unnecessary hospital admissions or readmissions, and reduce hospital length of stay. Cathy will sit for the CCM exam this year.
