Carlo Carado, RN, JD, MSN, PHN, CCM, CCCTM
Carlo Carado is the Director of Care Management and Social Work at Cedars-Sinai Medical Network, the physician network of Cedars-Sinai Health System in Los Angeles, California. Carlo’s interest in managed care began in 1994 when he worked for a major health plan in claims, patient services and as a health services coordinator. He has been involved in population health, care management, care coordination, and education for over twenty years combined. He is also a certified case manager (CCM), board certified in care coordination and transition management (CCCTM) and holds a Master of Science in Nursing and Juris Doctorate degrees. Currently, he is a doctoral candidate in education with specialization in transformational leadership. Through the years, his professional evolution exposed him to clinical areas such as medicine, operating room, oncology, the military, and managed care. Carlo developed the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network Care Coordination Training Program in 2010 that has helped over 200 graduates composed of professionals in his organization entering the managed care and care coordination arena understand the intricacies of this ever-evolving health care delivery system. He believes that the opportunities to improve the coordination of care for patients are endless and collectively, professionals and leaders in this field must be able to create a culture of knowledge-sharing of best practices in order to achieve a more global impact in improving the value of providing care in our country.
