PP13 – Foundations of Resilience and Well-Being
As ineffective healthcare infrastructures are being dismantled and new ones implemented, we also need to dismantle our own internal structures that no longer serve us and are based on stress reactivity, habituation, misunderstanding and pre-conceptions of the brain being hard-wired and unchanging. Current neuroscience affirms that brain structure and function is malleable and is shaped by repeated practice and experience. Neuroscience research in the contemplative practices of Mindfulness, Meditation, Compassion and Yoga, has demonstrated there is increased neuronal growth changing the brain architecture resulting in heightened attention, focus, concentration, emotional regulation, learning, altruism, resilience and well-being to name a few of the known benefits. This workshop will be teach you the how and why it is imperative to transform the stress reactivity cycle to a healing cycle of growth, resilience and well-being.
